(Luke 10:25-37)
This is one of Jesus’ most famous stories. The first part of chapter 10 says all disciples are given the gospel as a message that is to be shared with everyone. In this last part of the chapter, we’re given the other side of being a disciple; instead of just being called messengers, we’re also called to be neighbors. We’re called to meet the needs of all the people around us. Let’s examine that call together and learn one very important aspect; there is only one hero of the story, and we aren’t it.
